How to Buy a Gun Online
Step-by-step guide to purchasing firearms online legally. Read the guide and explore related products at Apollo Wholesale Club.
Is buying a gun online legal?
Yes — purchasing a firearm online is completely legal under federal law. However, the firearm cannot be shipped directly to your home (unless it's a curio/relic item or antique). It must be shipped to a federally licensed dealer (FFL) near you, where you complete the standard background check and paperwork.
Step 1: Choose your firearm
Browse Apollo's full catalog of handguns, rifles, shotguns, and ammo. Once you find your firearm, add it to your cart. You'll see the member price if you're a Wholesale Club member, or the standard retail price otherwise.
Step 2: Find your local FFL dealer
During checkout, you'll select a local FFL dealer to receive your firearm. The dealer performs the federal background check (Form 4473 + NICS) and handles the transfer. Apollo works with thousands of licensed dealers nationwide. Your chosen dealer may charge a transfer fee — typically $25–$75.
Step 3: Complete checkout
Enter your shipping address as your FFL dealer's address. Apollo ships directly to the dealer, fully insured. Shipping typically takes 3–7 business days depending on your location.
Step 4: Pick up your firearm
Once your firearm arrives at the dealer, they'll contact you. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. The dealer will run your background check, complete the Form 4473, and transfer the firearm to you — usually in 20–30 minutes.
Ages 18 and older. Applicable product, shipping, and transfer restrictions apply.
